Dr. Carlson earned both her Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1993. She comes from a family of dentistry, where she has had the chance to practice dentistry alongside her father and brother. She helped open Monterey Dental Centre in 1993 and has been proudly serving the community since.
Dr. Carlson’s passion is general dentistry for both adults and children. She takes great pride in her workmanship, her skilled team members and creating a family environment for her patients.
During her leisure time, Dr. Carlson loves to stay active by playing golf, hiking, and skiing. She enjoys spending time with her family & friends. She also enjoys spending time cooking and baking.
Dr. Jones is originally from Queensland, the beautiful sunshine state of Australia. His passion for dentistry comes from a long line of family members in the dental field. Dr. Jones graduated with honours from the dentistry program at Gold Coast Griffith University in Australia in 2013. Over the three consecutive years studying he won the Griffith Award of Academic Excellence. He moved from warm “down under” Australia to beautiful Calgary in 2014 and has been working with Monterey Dental Centre ever since. Dr Jones’ primary focus during his career has been implants and cosmetic restorations.
During his spare time, you’ll find him on the slopes or on his bike in the mountains, as he loves being outdoors. Dr. Jones loves living in Calgary and spends time with his friends enjoying everything this great city has to offer.
Dr. Cocoa Huang was born in Taiwan and raised in New Zealand. He received his dental degree at the Gold Coast Griffith University in Australia in 2013. He moved to Whistler following graduation in 2013 and shortly after, moved to Calgary.
Dr. Huang has been practicing general dentistry with Monterey Dental since February 2017, and he enjoys working in a collaborative environment with people who love helping patients as much as he does. Dr. Huang’s friendly, calming demeanor and easy communication style make him a perfect fit with our patients.
In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, being outdoors and, most of all, loves spending quality time with his young family. He is also an avid sports fan, who played tennis and rugby until graduating from university.
Dr. Young graduated with Distinction from the University of Alberta, earning both a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, along with the James McCutcheon and Silver Medal awards for outstanding academic and clinical achievements. He helped open Monterey Dental Centre in 1993 and has been proudly serving the community since. He is a surgical instructor for The Institute for Dental Excellence and a director with the Alberta Health Care Steering Committee, where he makes health recommendations to government agencies to better serve the Alberta public.
When he’s not practicing dentistry or educating, Dr. Young enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle and travelling the world.
Dr. Wilderman joined the team here at Monterey in 2021 after graduating from Griffith University with a Master of Clinical Dentistry.
She strives to provide comprehensive care that includes oral health maintenance while managing systemic health conditions and pathology. She utilizes a patient centered approach that treats the whole person, not just their individual teeth. Dr. Erin feels she has helped her patients most when they have improved their oral health, restored overall function and aesthetics.
Her free time is spent skiing, playing tennis, travelling, reading, and trying new recipes.
Franco joined Monterey Dental in January 2005. He obtained his degree from NAIT and he's a member of the Alberta College of Denturists Society.
He customizes each set of dentures for every patient. He prides himself on providing high-quality dentures and related services promptly and keeping the environment friendly.
While attending NAIT, Franco was on the Canadian Championship Hockey Team and played professional hockey in Europe. He enjoys golfing and biking with his wife, Stephanie, during his spare time. He also loves serving as an excellent chef for friends and family.
Our dental assistants are friendly, professional and perform a variety of clinical procedures, including processing x-rays, obtaining preliminary impressions, providing preventative treatments, along with dental health education, as well as assisting our dentists with numerous dental procedures. Their skills are constantly evolving as they engage in continuing education to learn about new technologies, procedures and industry standards. Our dental assistants practice universal precautions and infection control, and their utmost concern is their patients’ well-being and comfort.
Trisha joined our team in December 2019. She enjoys creating a bond with her patients and educating them about their dental needs and understanding the treatment they’re receiving.
Trisha enjoys her role as a dental assistant, and she is passionate about making every patient feel comfortable and ensuring they leave happy and comfortable with their dental experience.
When not in the office, shew spends time hiking, working out, and journaling.
Angie became a part of the team in September 2013. She is passionate about helping our patients to feel calm and comfortable when in our office. She loves helping them overcome their dental anxiety.
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoys woodworking and hiking.
Tricia has with the Monterey team since May 1998. She strives to guide her patients to reach and maintain their best oral health. She provides comfort and explains all dental options when treatment is needed.
She enjoys the many different types of dentistry in the office – from implants, to performing root canals as well as basic restorative procedures, and child hygiene. To her, every day brings something interesting.
When not at work, Tricia enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and shopping.
Krista joined us in October 2010. She feels most rewarded when she’s able to help our patients to feel comfortable while in the dental chair and when she is able assist our patients with their needs.
She loves being in the dental field as it’s fast-paced, and there’s so much room to learn even after years of working. She enjoys being in a close-knit office.
At home, Krista spends time with her husband, their one-year-old son, and French bulldog, Theo. Their family enjoys walks and outdoor activities. They love to travel and explore other countries when they can.
Krista also enjoys trying new restaurants and seeing a movie when she gets to go out without her little one.
Brianna has been in the dental field for over five years and feels like she does her best job when patient’s leave with a positive experience. She loves to help change people's perspective of dental treatment. Before she pursued a career in the dental field, she experienced dental anxiety herself.
When not working, Brianna enjoys spending time with friends and family and taking her son to the zoo!
Nanveet started at Monterey Dental in September 2007 and loves building trust with patients and calming them by explaining the procedures involved during their appointments. When she's not working she likes to listen to music and personal development podcasts, she also enjoys dancing and going on hikes.

Vanessa started at Monterey Dental in April 2018

Kelsey became part of our team in 2022, and we’re happy to welcome her into the dental industry. As a dental assistant, she feels she helps the most when patients feel comfortable and see her as someone they can trust with their dental needs.
She is most grateful when her patients leave the clinic a little less anxious and more knowledgeable about the dental visits. She enjoys her job because no two days are ever the same. Each day presents different patients, treatments, and conversations.
Myra joined Monterey Dental in January 2016. She loves working in a team environment and being a team player. Myra is a productive, motivated, reliable, and valuable member of our team.
In her spare time, she plays badminton and loves to cook.
Anna entered our team in 2021. She feels she helps most by using techniques to boost her patients’ daily dental hygiene. She enjoys her job because she loves helping people.
Outside of work, Anna spends time with her kids and family. She bakes and cooks too.

Amy has been with us since June 2015. She does her best to create a positive experience for her patients each time. She focuses on education, prevention and helping our patients achieve their healthiest smiles.
She enjoys getting to know patients and seeing them become more interested in their oral health.
In her leisure time, Amy spends time hiking or walking with her dog, bonding with friends and family, and traveling - especially for food.
Jasmine has been working at Monterey Dental since December 2021 and loves meeting different people and building a rapport with her patients. ‘I feel like I can help patients best when I listen to the concerns and act as their advocate. As a hygienist I believe that is one of my main goals, along with educating and helping patients maintain healthy smiles.’
In her spare time she enjoys being outside, enjoying nature by either camping, hiking, kayaking, or paddle boarding. She loves walking and playing with her Siberian husky, Miika. And getting together with family and eating yummy food.
Hamza joined the Monterey Dental team in June 2008
Hamza has a a very client-centric approach to the practice. ‘I think it's important to creative an environment where all my patients feel comfortable. I enjoy educating my community about oral heath, the people I work with, and establishing genuine relationships with my clientele.’
In her spare time she enjoys cooking, listening to music, reading and art!
Liji Joined the Monterey team in January 2017
Liji enjoys interacting with clients and helping them improve their oral health . ‘It is always a rewarding feeling when someone understands and is aware of the impact oral health has on their body. Being a Dental hygienist provides many opportunities to learn and be able to keep clients educated and up to date with their latest treatment options. I believe I can make a difference in clients lives by educating them on the benefits of proper oral hygiene in order to maintain a healthy smile.’
In her spare time she loves being with family, travelling to new places, enjoying the great outdoors and trying out new restaurants.
Our entire administrative team is here to welcome you to our office and will work to ensure that your experience at Monterey Dental Centre is as comfortable as possible. Dental administrators handle the administrative aspects of a dental office or setting, ensuring that all appointments are scheduled and handled properly. They also handle financial aspects, including billing patients and insurance companies. In addition to normal administration skills, dental administrators fully understand dental terminology and dental procedures in order to record effectively and report information.
Dalyce has been with Monterey Dental since April 2003. She enjoys assisting our patients and helping them to feel more comfortable when talking about their concerns and needs. She hopes each patient experiences compassion and understanding at each visit and as well as sharing a laugh or two with the team.
She enjoys her job as she loves working hard and having fun with the team. She loves having long-term patients and the special bonds they've built.
Outside of work, Dalyce enjoys cooking, reading, and camping. She also spends time bonding with family and friends.
Jenn joined our team in February 2009. She likes being able to help patients understand their treatment and what works best for them. For her, a job well done is seeing patients leaving the office happy and smiling.
When not working, Jennifer enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
Heather has been a part of our team since June 2018. She enjoys using her assisting experience to explain treatment and educate patients about their dental health in a way they understand.
She is very passionate about dentistry and finds it very interesting how it’s constantly evolving. She loves that every patient is different and unique.
When she’s not working with our patients, Heather spends quality time at home with her family. She enjoys crafting, sewing, constructing, baking, cooking, interior design, and renovations.
Donna has been a member of the Monterey Team since March 2016. She makes sure patients are aware of their insurance details and receive accurate costs. She enjoys seeing new and long-term patients visit and helping them complete the dental treatments they need.
When not in the office, Donna loves gardening, reading, and seeing her young granddaughter.
Sherry joined the team in August 2017. She strives to make patients feel welcome and to assure them that they’re in a happy, professional office. She helps them go over their claims and answer their questions before they check out.
She enjoys her job because she loves being with her work family. She's always happy to receive visits from patients and catch up with them.
When not in the office, Sherry spends time crafting and restoring old furnishings. She loves woodworking group classes, gardening, and yard work. She also likes being outdoors and has recently been hiking in our beautiful province.
Nicki joined us in 2022. Equipped with over 30 years of experience and clinical background, she helps patients understand their treatment plans and navigate through complicated insurance plans.
As a people person, she enjoys talking to patients and getting to know them. She loves being able to assist them as they make decisions for their dental health.
When not working, she enjoys reading, traveling, and walking her dogs.
